About

Moving Helper

Well we're moving to GA this month!  First, however, we're visiting family in the Quad Cities.  This means that we're packing everything now and loading up the 10th to drive the Uhaul to the Quad Cities, where there will be a POD waiting for us to unload into (and fill up with all the stuff we left back in the Quad Cities) which will be shipped to a yet undiscovered address in Braselton, GA.  Confused yet?  Though, as complicated as that may sound -it's going really smoothly and I'm not stressed out or anything.  I was telling a friend the other day that I've become a grown-up organized version of myself this past month and I think I'm actually going to be READY when we move.

I made a calendar of what should be packed by when, which I'm ahead of -and I've kept all the paperwork and to-do lists together and organized.  Everyday I'm doing SOMETHING to get us closer to being ready.  Brennan has noticed I've become a little preoccupied with this, but today he decided that instead of literally pulling me away from whatever task it is I'm working on and chanting "Come on, come on, come on, come on, let's play, let's play, let's play, come on, come on, come on..." yes, instead of taking that route for the third week in a row, Brennan decided to help me label boxes.  Here are some photos capturing his very helpful nature...

Dscf2267 we live half way across the country from our families, so it is necessary to visit...but i miss this. cyndi and brennan flew home for a couple weeks in illinois with the fam, and i'm here in colorado all alone...i miss them...i miss you baby...come home.

this will be the longest we have ever been apart, and the longest i will have to go without hugging brennan. so i miss you guys, but don't worry, i'll make it...just come home safe and hug everyone back there in the heart of the midwest for me...

love you

Trick-Or-Treat

Halloween_greetingBrennan Brave is Blue this Halloween from the Nick Jr. show Blue's Clues.  I was happy that when he saw this picture he called out, "Loo's Clues!"  I thought it was good that he knew who he was supposed to be.  This costume was a labor of love; I had no pattern and no sewing machine, so hand-drawn and hand-stitched the whole thing came, SLOWLY, together.  He really likes it though and it's rather helpful to have the world's cutest little boy peeking through to make it extra adorable.  For more pictures of us this month, click on the "October in Colo Springs" album on the top of the left column over there.  It includes some fun pictures from when Nanna and PaPa came and visited us last week.

Pictures_364like the color of your eyes and the color of your hair, it's all in the genes...brennan had never seen us dip oreos in milk before, but he just did it on his own...cool huh...

B is for Brilliant

1yr_golf_up_1 Brennan's considered a toddler now.  That's weird.  While Gregg has been in TX this week, Brennan and I have really bonded more than ever.  I can honestly say this little boy's one of my bestest friends ever.  Man I love him.  His personality is coming out more and more, and I'm learning he's even more awesome than I ever thought.  I wanted to get these pictures on the blog for our friends who haven't seen the little Brenner in a while- check out the photo album "Portraits."  They are from his one-year portraits we had done a couple of months ago.

Also here's the current vocab. list: momma, daddy, nana, papa, doggie, birdie, bunny, arf arf, moo, vrrooom, RRRROOOOAAARRR, baa, meow, hi, book, wow, light, no, bye-bye, GO!, maddy, jack, and Nennan (that's what he calls himself.)  Also, today when my mom asked him "hey, are you a pooper?"  he replied with a questionable inflection in his voice: "pooper?""  and sometimes he says sock and flower too.  In short, he's brilliant.

in common

Dscf0927a baby can't be much happier than with his mom, and vice-a-versa.

cyndi is such a great mom...sometimes i pick him up, and instead of looking at me, he follows his mom around the room with his head...it's cool...another thing we have in common.

Shirtheadokay, so i was much more into this than brennan was at the time, but i couldn't resist.

something i get to do and i love to do is get brennan naked before his bath at night...and read that with the purity and love of a father in mind.  i love it because he loves it.  i yank his pants down and exclaim to him that "i took your pants off" and he smiles and pines...and as i take off his shirt and his onesy i tell him, "you're gonna take a tubby", to which he smiles and pines...

i actually do have pictures somewhere of this same shirthead thing where he is smiling, and i wonder if he likes being like his daddy?

but then as i think about it...the truth is...i like being like my son.  there is something peace filling about it.  i love being like brennan!
