modesty

cyndi recently bought me "modest mouse".  so far, i like it.  reading through the lyrics, i can see that they have a lot of questions and/or about God.  things like..."you wasted life, why wouldn't you waste the afterlife?"..."if God controls the land and disease, keeps a watchful eye on me, if he's really so damn mighty, my problem is that i can't see, well who'd wanna be?...such a control freak?"  thank God He let's us ask these questions.

John Deere Jr. High School

there is this very cool person at my new church, and she teaches jr. acheivement classes at John Deere Jr. High School...anyway, her guest speaker fell through, so she asked me to fill in for twenty minutes, so i did.  let me tell you, i haven't felt that lost in a while.  i enjoyed it, but i'm so used to talking about the Jesus, and being intentionally spiritual, it took me about ten minutes to get to a point that i was comfortable and felt like i could hear the spirit telling me how to communicate to them something that was of actual value.  so in the end, i felt like something had been said that was good for them, in a motivational way, and i'm glad i got the opportunity, even if it was last minute...

BABY UPDATE - Close Call

Gregg called me tonight to say they went to the hospital. He and Cyndi (& of course Brennan) were there for around 4 hours before they were sent home. They go to bed tonight with the hope that tomorrow will the Big Day. Let’s pray that it is…

three good days, and a dead guy

the first three days here at faith lutheran have been very good, very tiring, but good.  i have met many people and had three free lunches, and you can't beat that.  i'm putting this picture up because a little over ten years ago, this memorial was added to the church property.i'ts kind of funny because pastor mark had me going for a bit about how there really was a guy buried on the church property.  it turns out it's just a memorial, but it literally is a tombstone, so it looks like i'll have some fun with this one.  i'm going to show it to everyone and tell them that roger is really buried there.  it should be a good time.  rock on...

first day

so a while back i posted about how i felt God was bringing me full circle and now he has.  today was my first day at faith lutheran church in moline, il.  it was a great day, other than i was very tired because i couldn't sleep last night.  my brain was going a mile a minute.  pastor mark basically showed me around, gave me some materials to look over and filled me in some more on what is going on, and what i should expect.  i filled him in on some of my initial ideas, and he thought my time scale and ideas were good and said i could move on them.  i'm looking forward to what will come...thanks for all the prayers, and please continue to pray for us as our baby is coming very soon, and as i figure out how to be a youth pastor again.  God bless.

it's a seven day countdown to cyndi's due date.  we're not sure if brennan will come on time or not, either way, we are very excited.  check out this mini video, i like to call "brilliant".Download DSCF0292.AVI   there is no audio, so you can make up your own...my personal story line is that cyndi, a very soon, mother to be is eating breakfast to help nourish her unborn baby, therefore...brilliant!

baby shower

i know this is a bit out of order...but i will post about my new job soon...anyway, faith lutheran gave us a baby shower that was very cool today...we made out like bandits and we got to meet a lot of people.  praise God for new family and soon to be friends.
