the other day i woke up with some incredible pain in the right side of my jaw! it wasn't completely unexpected on the account that i have been noticing my jaw moving over the last year. and even though it rarely hurts, i thought it time to go see a dentist about it. 179 bucks later i find out that i'm a teeth grinder (you can see the wear lines in my teeth about), and so my jaw is freaking out from all the stress. they gave me a glorified athletic mouth piece that was a mere 74 dollars, but hey if it will help save my pearly whitish teeth, than great. i'll have to wear it at night and take ibuprofen to help the inflamation in my jaw to go down. all in all, i feel okay about it, what freaks me out sometimes is that if it got really bad i would have lock jaw and need invasive surgery. but for now, i'm okay and i can continue to sing and keep my adoring fan(s) happy.

My cousin is going for surgery on her mouth next week for a misalign jaw. She has great pain all the time. Do you think surgery is going to help her or is she going to eventually get worse? I don't believe in surgery for TMJ. Thank you for any feedback you may have. Laura/NJ

i wish i could tell you...i just have a mouth guard and i mine has never gotten to the point of needing surgery. i was told there is no "cure", so having surgery may correct some things.
i hope she is okay
God bless
